The more affordable sister brand of manufacturer Nothing, CMF by Nothing, is preparing the arrival of the CMF Phone 2 Pro. This new smartphone promises to be an ambitious device combining performance, advanced photography, and distinctive design. Scheduled for release on April 28, Nothing's new creation aims to shake up the mid-range with its first "Pro" model.
A distinctive and customizable design
The CMF Phone 2 Pro adopts a two-tone approach in white and orange that gives it a strong and recognizable visual identity. The young brand continues to stand out and describes this new finish as "textured, tactile, different". The phone would retain the modular approach introduced with the CMF Phone 1, allowing the device to be personalized with interchangeable accessories. On the front, we will find a flat screen with uniform borders and a selfie camera housed in a punch-hole.
Dimensionally, the CMF Phone 2 Pro is intended to be slim, with a chassis with flat edges for a more premium grip. The company would opt for a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a definition of 1080 × 2400 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
Solid performance for gaming?
Under the hood, the CMF Phone 2 Pro will feature the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro processor, an improved version of the Dimensity 7300 that powered the CMF Phone 1. This chip would offer 10% faster CPU performance and 5% faster GPU performance compared to its predecessor, which should not revolutionize the experience. However, this change should help the model confirm its "Pro" status in the hierarchy and Nothing mentions good performance in games. The smartphone would run the Indian version of PUBG Mobile, Battlegrounds Mobile India, at 120 fps with a touch sampling rate of 1000 Hz.
The quantities of RAM and storage are not yet known. Rumors suggest the existence of a version with 6 GB of RAM (with an additional 6 GB virtually expandable) and 128 GB of storage, with a microSD card slot.
An ambitious camera system
The CMF Phone 2 Pro could be an outsider in photography in its segment, thanks to the presence of a triple sensor on the back. The setup would revolve around a 50MP main sensor with a large 1/1.57″ sensor, as well as a 50MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens.
This system will benefit from optimization by the TrueLens Engine 3.0, to help the device produce good quality images, even in difficult lighting conditions. We should also expect support for 4K video recording and the presence of various modes such as HDR, night mode, and portrait mode. If you follow the brand's news, you'll notice that this configuration seems identical to that of the Nothing Phone (3a). This smartphone has recently been available and will soon be reviewed on Le Journal du Geek, like the Phone (3a) Pro.
Finally, Nothing confirms that the CMF Phone 2 Pro will offer the feature called Essential Space. This AI-powered interface helps the user capture, organize, and act effortlessly, explains the manufacturer. In terms of battery life, the smartphone should be equipped with a 5000 mAh battery compatible with 33W fast charging and 5W reverse charging. It will run on Android 15 with the Nothing OS 3 overlay.
Its launch is imminent
The CMF Phone 2 Pro will be officially unveiled on April 28 at 3:00 PM, French time. Although the official price has not yet been announced, the CMF Phone 2 Pro is expected to be positioned as a more affordable option than the Nothing Phone (3a). As a reminder, the Phone (3a) starts at 349 euros in France.
