A little less than a year. This is the amount of time the public will have to wait before seeing Matt Murdock, Karen Paige and all the other resistance fighters opposed to the anti-vigilante regime, and the total takeover of New York City by Wilson Fisk at the end of the first season of Daredevil Born Again, which ended this Wednesday on the Disney + streaming platform. While Marvel Studios has not officially communicated on the return date of the series, Dario Scardapane, the showrunner — who had already officiated on the series The Punisher, formerly owned by Netflix - took care of it himself.
On his Instagram account, the interested party wanted to thank in a post provided for this purpose all the teams who collaborated with him on season 1 of Daredevil Born Again. The opportunity to recall that Dario Scardapane joined the current project and resumed a production already well advanced, with six episodes already in the can, following the change of plan for the series on the part of Marvel Studios, not satisfied with the direction it was taking at the origin.
With the Defenders?
In his post, Dario Scardapane mainly gave the public an appointment for season 2, stating that it would arrive in March 2026. A timing far from surprising, the idea being to ensure continuity between the two seasons of Daredevil Born Again, which is more similar, in terms of story and construction, to a single season cut into two parts. The second act will not lack stakes, with two camps ready to do battle: on one side, the Fisk couple and their Task Force, determined to exercise repressive power over the population of New York and on the other Daredevil and the last opponents still at large, ready to anything to free the city from the Kingpin's yoke.
With the anti-vigilante law now in place, and the Task Force completely free to act with radical methods, Matt Murdock no longer has a choice: to win and overthrow Fisk, he's going to need an army. Enough to fuel the return of the Defenders in the MCU next year? Why not. The Man Without Fear will also have to deal with the return of Karen – always likely to trigger mixed feelings in him – the position of his girlfriend, Heather Glenn, who has joined Wilson Fisk's camp, the presence of a Bullseye still at large, and other possible threats, which we don't know yet but which we can only imagine for the future. Because after all, with Daredevil, and season 1 of Born Again only confirmed it, we are not safe from a surprise.
