With this new model, the brand is making a long-awaited return to the world of collector accessories. And what better choice than DOOM, a cult franchise that is preparing for its big comeback in May?
What first alerted gamers was a report from Microsoft's offices at NBC Today. The controller can be seen on the desk of Phil Spencer, the boss of Xbox. Since then, the news has been confirmed by billbil-kun: this DOOM controller really does exist, and it's coming out very soon.
A unique and well-crafted design
No question of settling for anything here with a simple color change. This DOOM The Dark Ages controller offers a real design work. The classic letters A, B, X and Y give way to demonic symbols inspired by the game. The triggers are two-tone: gray for RB/RT, orange for LB/LT. The back of the controller mixes gray and a beige-brown tone like worn metal. The result is at once original, consistent with the universe of the game, and very successful visually. It's the kind of accessory that catches the eye as much as it makes you want to play.
The DOOM controller should be officially announced by April 16 or 17. It will be available for early access on the Microsoft Store until April 18, before arriving at other retailers. The price is set at €79.99 in France. And good news: this edition will not be exclusive to the United States. It will be available in Europe, Canada, and other regions.
