EA FC 25 has been leaked again, and players may not like it.

It's been a good season for EA FC 25. With no direct competitor strong enough to compete in the football simulation field, Electronic Arts' latest addition continues to lead the way. However, some new features aren't always to fans' liking. A major change for the franchise could be coming very soon, according to several leaks. However, this risks angering some players.

EA FC 25 could make a risky bet

The current master of football games has gradually improved its experience since its release in September 2024. Indeed, the Electronic Arts teams do not skimp on patches and free additional content. But, visibly, they have thought of a new system for EA FC 25 that could change the game for many, and this, as early as next week according to the leaks.

According to the X Asy Fut account, which specializes in EA FC 25 news, the publisher is planning to implement a paid pass for the game's Ultimate Team mode. In short, players would subscribe to a monthly subscription in order to obtain rewards, generally cosmetic, throughout their games.

This paid pass principle is already widespread in the games-as-a-service market, like DotA 2, Fortnite and other GTA Online games. In this case, this system remains consistent with EA FC 25's Ultimate Team. This mode lets you create your own team. But, until now, the new features to customize them were free.

A new feature that divides fans of the king of football

EA FC 25 would therefore take a very particular turn for the franchise. Fundamentally, some players are not against it, provided that the cost is worth it1. There are even some who see it as an opportunity to finally have more attractive cosmetic packs, as long as it doesn't exceed 10 euros/month2.

On the other hand, others are already expressing their dissatisfaction. Since the game is paid to start, many internet users see it as just a way for Electronic Arts to squeeze more and more money from the EA FC 25 audience. This would still be acceptable to most if the title were free-to-play, but it is not the case3 and 4. What's more, the inclusion of a paid pass raises questions about the future of the license, especially with the first leaks of FC 26.
