Google's AI is disrupting searches: 1.5 billion users in 3 months

A major new feature for Google?

This Google feature consists of automatically summarizing complex answers in search results, thanks to artificial intelligence. With Google AI Overviews, Google is not necessarily aiming to gain ground in the artificial intelligence space, but rather wants to design part of its future business model. In addition to positioning itself against ChatGPT with its subscription to Google Gemini, whose latest version, Gemini 2.5, was very well received, the company does not intend to stop there.

As early as October 2024, just a few months after its launch, Craig Ewer, one of Google's communications managers, confirmed to The Verge that ads will appear in Google AI Overviews.
