Are you tired of paying €200 in bank fees per year, for average service at that? We understand, and millions of French people have been in this situation. Today, online banks have completely revolutionized the banking landscape with comprehensive offerings (current account, savings, loans, investments), very low fees, and responsive customer service.
This is the case, for example, of Fortuneo, which now has a million customers and appeals on all levels: free banking, a complete range of products, a Gold card included... and even a colossal welcome bonus. Until May 13, 2025, you are entitled to 250 euros in cash if you open a free account.
There are two things to know before taking the plunge: 1) you must go to the page dedicated to the “25 years” operation of Fortuneo to qualify for it (because the basic homepage of the online bank's website doesn't mention it and is limited to an 80 euro bonus) and 2) you must enter the code FTN0425 to activate the record welcome bonus.
A record bonus at Fortuneo
By default, the bonus paid by Fortuneo for new customers is much more limited: it is 80 euros for those who opt for the free Gold card, and 0 euros for those who take the Fosfo card. So you have a chance to triple this welcome bonus (and finally get a bonus for the Fosfo card) thanks to this anniversary operation.
To validate the entire bonus, here's what you need to do. First, you'll receive a 160 euro cash bonus for opening the current account and the Gold bank card (which are both free). This means you'll need to provide proof of 1,800 euros of income per month. If this isn't your case, the Fosfo card is available without any income requirements and will still give you a 70 euro bonus.
Then, everyone can receive an additional 70 euros bonus if they transfer all of their recurring withdrawals and transfers to the Fortuneo account. The bank is committed to take care of all the administrative side so that you don't have to ask your service providers (water, electricity, etc.) for the change of IBAN.
Finally, you will receive a 20 euro bonus for opening a Livret+. This is the bank's free bank book, and it also gives you access to a rate that you won't find elsewhere. In this case, you have a gross annual rate of 4.5% for the first few months – while the Livret A rate is 2.40%. Even if you remove the 30% tax, you're still paying a higher rate than the Livret A savings account, and with a much higher ceiling.
Please note, you have no obligation with Fortuneo: you can very well keep your current account, and you don't necessarily need to transfer your transfers to them. You have until June 13 to decide whether you want to use banking mobility and take advantage of this 70 euro bonus or not. If you don't feel comfortable, don't do it. This won't stop you from receiving the 160 euros for the Gold card, and the 20 euros for the Livret+.
