Marvel: 8 Characters Who Deserve a Fresh Start After Avengers Secret Wars

Marvel: 8 Characters Who Deserve a Fresh Start After Avengers Secret Wars

After Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars, a lot of things are likely to change in the MCU. A reboot could be on the horizon, which would mean that some characters could get a fresh start. At least, that's what we're hoping for these eight.

#1 Hulk

In the MCU, Hulk was a constant for a long time before falling out of favor with fans after Avengers: Endgame. The character of Professor Hulk didn't convince the community, and the She-Hulk series didn't help improve his image. A reboot would allow him to rediscover his bestial origins and his complex duality with Bruce Banner. This is what many hope, and we are no exception.

#2 Kang the Conqueror

Even before Jonathan Majors' setbacks, Kang hadn't been treated in the best way. The main villain of the Multiverse saga, he never had the stature of a Thanos. In Quantumania, he was downright humiliated by Ant-Man, which didn't help make him a real threat. Today, he's even been dropped from Marvel's plans in favor of Doctor Doom. This is a shame, because Kang has enormous potential. It would therefore be interesting to see him again in the future in another form.

#3 Taskmaster

Even today, we don't understand why Taskmaster was adapted this way in the film Black Widow. Reappearing in Thunderbolts*, we can still hope for a better treatment, but everything suggests that he will lose his life, as evidenced by his absence from the cast of Doomsday, a big blunder on Marvel's part. Taskmaster deserves a bigger role, one that's more faithful to the comics.

#4 Red Skull

Captain America's greatest adversary, Red Skull ultimately only faced him in one film. It was his organization, Hydra, that gave the hero a hard time, rather than himself. He reappears in the last two Avengers films, but his role is as guardian of the Soul Stone. It might be time for him to become the villain he was again. In the comics, he even has a conflicted relationship with Doctor Doom, something that would be interesting to explore.

#5 Black Panther

The Black Panther costume is a heavy lift. While excellent under Chadwick Boseman, it was more complicated for Letitia Wright. Her character, Shuri, was propelled into the role of leader of Wakanda too quickly. Her development was rushed by Marvel, with the heroine almost completely changed. Fans didn't embrace this evolution. It certainly would have taken longer for it to happen. A reboot would make things easier to swallow, and with the latest leaks, we're heading there.

#6 Ultron

Age of Ultron is clearly not the fan-favorite Avengers film. It must be said that Ultron's potential as the Avengers' greatest adversary hasn't been fully realized. He had what it takes to be the central villain of a saga, but he's been relegated to the background. However, the themes he explores are interesting, but they could have been much better. If we could have the same Ultron as in What if...? that would be awesome.

#7 Quicksilver

The second Avengers movie didn't just hurt Ultron, it also hurt Quicksilver. Brother of the Scarlet Witch, he loses his life in the feature film. It was a bold choice on Marvel's part, perhaps too bold. His loss certainly adds to the tragedy of Wanda's character, but he could have been much more useful alive. We can see this in X-Men: Days of Future Past where he made an impression on fans. So it's high time Quicksilver took back what he was owed after Secret Wars.

#8 The Inhumans

Some of you may be waiting for the Inhumans to appear in the MCU, especially with the presence of Black Bolt in Doctor Strange 2. Well... they're already here. The group appears in Agents of SHIELD and in the Inhumans series. The Kree-created species could have a say in the future of the MCU and finally come out of the closet they've been put in.
