McFly and Carlito locked in a room at 50 degrees
This Thursday, March 24, at 6 p.m., Hugo Clément launches the first of his new series of videos via the YouTube channel of his media Vakita. Launched Two and a half years ago, the online media presented itself as an investigative media outlet focusing on environmental and societal issues, with few surprises so far. For this new concept, Hugo Clément and his two guests, McFly and Carlito, are locked in a room where the temperature gradually rises to 50 degrees.
The goal? To try to get a feel for what our daily lives will be like in the summer. in France in 2050. Estimates made by Météo France, if our behavior does not change, which therefore predict a stifling future. Initially, the room in which the three friends are locked is heated to 45 degrees. After an adaptation period, the temperature rises to 50 degrees. During this time, the guests practice physical or reflective activities and even play board games.
A medical team is present on site, the exercise remaining dangerous. A doctor checks the guests' blood pressure and body temperature every time it rises, everything is carefully monitored. "McFly and Carlito talk about these subjects on their channel, without claiming to be exemplary and while assuming contradictions themselves, like most people have, justifies the face that also officiates on the airwaves of France Télévisions and France Inter. They represent well what we want to show: the general public who do not define themselves as eco-friendly but are interested in the environment in the broad sense." explains Hugo Clément.
For its premiere, "Locked in a room at 50 degrees: Will McFly and Carlito last until the end?" has already attracted more than 130,000 viewers. "Between laughter, sweat, and awareness, dive into the very concrete consequences of climate change," the description of the YouTube video teases us. Even if Internet users are won over in the comments of the video, criticism abounds on X, where detractors attack the contrast between promoting ecology and climate change, and the pollution caused by heating a room to 50 degrees.
