The big moment has arrived! We were treated to a big presentation of the Nintendo Switch 2 this Wednesday, April 2nd. It was an opportunity to discover the first games exclusive to the console, but also several games that will be 'cross-gen', like the highly anticipated Metroid Prime 4. In the process, the manufacturer organized a few meetings dedicated to this line-up. Thus, we were able to get a better glimpse of Samus's next adventures.
Metroid Prime 4 presents its ultimate version on Nintendo Switch 2
The patience of Metroid fans will soon be rewarded. 18 years after the last main installment of the Prime saga - which stands out from the 2D installments and seen from the side to offer 3D FPS gameplay - the fourth installment is finally getting ready to land on Nintendo Switch 1 and 2 in 2025.
Given the event that this release represents, Nintendo offered a great presentation session for Metroid Prime 4 Beyond yesterday, during the Treehouse conference. Thus, we were able to discover in more detail what this new episode will look like on Switch 2. Suffice to say that the difference with the Switch 1 version is impressive.
The ultimate version of Metroid Prime 4 will indeed be on Nintendo Switch 2, we can only be sure of it now. The game promises incomparable comfort on the new console thanks to an fluidity of images unattainable on the old one. So, you can play the game at 120 FPS with the "Performance" mode, a more than appreciable rate for an FPS.
That's not all that's impressive with the Switch 2 version of Metroid Prime 4. In fact, the console also offers a 4K rendering which magnifies the title thanks to the "Fidelity" mode. Going down to 60 frames per second allows for a finer resolution. In this sense, the textures are undeniably cleaner, not to mention all the lighting effects and HUD elements which stand out much better.
Finally, the highlight of the show might well be the mouse game! Metroid Prime 4 Beyond will give you the choice: classic gameplay with the Joy-Con in controller mode, or the ability to use them as a mouse. This new feature specific to the Switch 2 will increase your precision tenfold. again, the console shows that it has strong arguments to attract shooter enthusiasts.
