Monster Hunter Wilds is totally ruined by cheaters, it's hell

Capcom had something to delight fans of Monster Hunter Wilds. With its latest update, the Japanese studio launched a new type of time-limited quest. A simple but effective concept: special challenges, with precise rules, and exclusive rewards. But not everything goes as planned.

Quests designed for the best players on Monster Hunter but...

These new missions have a clear purpose in Monster Hunter Wilds. They test the most experienced players. The first of them, for example, requires facing an enormous Doshaguma, a massive monster that looks like a cross between a bear and a wild dog. Capcom imposes very specific equipment for this hunt. And depending on the time achieved, players can obtain a rare pendant to hang on their weapon. But above all, the fastest can hope to enter the world's top 10,000. A real proof of talent... at least in theory.

Because the problem quickly arrived on Monster Hunter Wilds. The online leaderboards are now invaded by cheaters. The best times displayed are simply impossible. Some players supposedly pass the test in seconds. The result: for an honest player, it's impossible to compete. Even with perfect mastery of the game. Even with hours of training. Without cheating, the top 10,000 has become a mirage.

An old problem in the game

This isn't the first time the Monster Hunter series has faced this kind of situation. Monster Hunter World had already experienced similar issues with its online rankings. This time again, it's mainly crossplay that's causing problems. The game is shared between PS5 and PC players. And on PC, cheating tools are easier to use. Console players, on the other hand, are left without a solution to this injustice.

For now, Capcom has indicated that it will take action. Accounts that cheat could be banned. Some players are also hoping for a complete cleanup of the leaderboards. Others are calling for separate leaderboards by platform. One thing is certain: these limited quests are a great idea to prolong the interest in Monster Hunter Wilds. But provided that the rules of the game are respected. Otherwise, these challenges risk losing all meaning.
