No more dirty mop: this Ecovacs robot cleans it all by itself in real time

A major player in home robotics, Ecovacs is shaking up its range of robot vacuum cleaners with the DEEBOT T80 OMNI. This model doesn't just vacuum and wash floors, it also features interesting innovations like OZMO ROLLER technology. Behind this funny name, we find a rotating mop that cleans itself during the wash cycle. The device aims to prevent the robot from carrying dirt and dust, and its manufacturer puts forward solid arguments to extol the merits of its technology.

OZMO ROLLER: the mop that's always clean?

The big new feature of the T80 OMNI is the OZMO ROLLER, a real roller mop with an instant self-cleaning system. With each rotation, a built-in scraper removes dirt and waste water from the roller, while clean water jets continuously rinse it. Thus, the robot always cleans with a clean mop from the flow to the end of the cycle and the roller has a suction power of 3700 Pa.

Furthermore, Ecovacs adds that its new vacuum-mop rotates at 200 revolutions per minute and applies 16 times more pressure than conventional systems. According to the manufacturer, this constant pressure helps effectively lift stubborn stains and spills.

People with long hair and pet owners know: robot vacuum brushes are often a nightmare to detangle. I can confirm this, and Ecovacs is tackling this thorny issue with ZeroTangle 3.0 technology. Thanks to an optimized design and a gross suction power of 18000 Pa (for the main suction), the T80 OMNI promises to efficiently vacuum hair and fur without them wrapping around the brushes.

It is aided by the ARClean Anti-Tangle side brush, with a unique design curved inward, which brings debris back to the main brush while avoiding tangles itself.

AI for navigation

In addition to emphasizing power, the DEEBOT T80 OMNI aims to be "intelligent" thanks to specific 3D sensors called TrueEdge 2.0. Combined with refined algorithms, the robot can follow walls and furniture with more precision for improved edge cleaning. It also offers intelligent navigation (AIVI 3D 3.0) which helps it "see" its environment and recognize certain obstacles to adapt its trajectory in real time, even if a door suddenly opens in front of it. Finally, Ecovacs emphasizes the adaptive mopping function (AI Instant Re-Mop 2.0) to allow the robot to detect the level of dirt and adjust its strategy.

Classic in terms of design, the DEEBOT T80 OMNI is limited to 98 mm in height and can slide under many pieces of furniture. It crosses thresholds up to 20 mm and automatically raises its mop roller 10 mm on carpets to avoid wetting them. The robot comes with a redesigned, smaller and improved OMNI docking station. It finally integrates a hot water mopping system, with an adjustable temperature depending on the dirt, as well as a hot air drying function. It completely dries the roller, at 45°C, in two hours.

Furthermore, the station's wash tank only needs cleaning about every 150 days.

Price and availability

The Ecovacs DEEBOT T80 OMNI is available from today at the promotional price of 899 euros (instead of 1099 euros) until April 30, 2025. Its manufacturer announces availability on Amazon, as well as at Darty and Boulanger.
