In the Pirates of the Caribbean saga, the question of heredity and genealogy is addressed on multiple occasions, mainly through the figure of the father, mothers being entirely absent from the franchise. Will Turner meets his father, Shoemaker Bill, aboard the Flying Dutchman, Davy Jones's ship where he has been a prisoner for years; Elizabeth Swann is the daughter of Weatherby Swann, the governor of Port Royal, appointed by the King of England; Angelica Teach is (supposedly) the daughter of Blackbeard, but this outspoken liar may very well have fooled everyone about her parentage; as for Jack Sparrow, he is the son of Teague, the keeper of the Pirate Code, played by Johnny Depp's idol, Keith Richards. As for The mother of the Captain of the Black Pearl, she was reduced to a severed head!

According to user @darrenislivid, "Jack's mother belonged to one of the tribes on the cannibal island. This is also why Jack is worshipped as a god there and knows their language." Indeed, in Dead Man's Chest, the Captain of the Black Pearl runs aground on an island whose inhabitants try to roast and devour him... Jack's mother was therefore killed by rivals and then his head recovered by Teague, during his wanderings.

And you, what do you think?
