The recently launched GeForce RTX 5060 Ti will ultimately remain alone in the mid-range market for only a short time; AMD plans to present its Radeon RX 9060 XT during Computex, with a launch expected about two weeks later. Knowing that the global IT and technology trade fair will be held from May 20 to 23, this means that AMD's next graphics card should arrive – barring any last-minute surprises – on retailers' shelves at the beginning of June.
Two models expected for these halves of the RX 9070 XT
The specifications of the RX 9060 XT are already known, at least in broad outline. Two models are planned, with 8 GB and 16 GB of GDDR6 memory respectively running on a 128-bit bus, for a bandwidth of up to 320 GB/s. RDNA 4 requires these two cards to support all the new features and improvements brought by this architecture, in particular the FSR 4 and computing units dedicated to inference that are much more powerful than on the previous generation, which should allow for decent performance in terms of artificial intelligence.
Both versions use the same Navi 44 chip, a much smaller (and therefore cheaper to manufacture) chipset than the Navi 48 of the Radeon RX 9070 and 9070 XT. Engraved by TSMC in 4 nm and clocked at a Boost frequency of 3.2 GHz, significantly higher than that offered by the RX 7600XT, this graphics processor has 2048 computing units – exactly half of a Radeon RX 9070 XT – and 32 third-generation accelerators dedicated to ray tracing.

The power consumption of this Radeon RX 9060 XT is not yet known, but we can assume that it will be similar to, or even lower than, the 180 watts of the competing RTX 5060 Ti. The price remains a problem: NVIDIA has placed its new GeForce RTX 5060 Ti at 400 euros for the 8 GB version and 450 euros for the 16 GB model; We can therefore legitimately expect AMD to market its new Radeon RX 9060 XT at equivalent prices to hope for commercial success.
