Samsung is preparing to return to familiar territory. A highly anticipated presentation event is being organized in the United States. The brand could unveil much more than its folding smartphones.

Samsung reportedly plans to launch its future foldables earlier, here's where and when they'll be revealed

In recent years, Samsung has made a habit of presenting its folding smartphones at international events called Galaxy Unpacked. Each edition is organized in a different city and at a specific time of year. In 2023, for example, the presentation took place in Seoul in July. In 2024, it was Paris that hosted the launch, in the midst of preparations for the Olympic Games. These geographical and calendar choices contribute to the manufacturer's global communication strategy.

In 2025, Samsung reportedly plans to return to New York to unveil its next foldable smartphones. According to the South Korean media outlet The JoongAng, the brand will be holding an Unpacked event during the first week of July. The announcement of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 would therefore be brought forward by several weeks compared to some past launches, while returning to the abandoned American setting for two years.

Samsung chooses New York to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 in early July

In 2022, the Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 models were already presented in New York. Then, Samsung moved its events to Seoul in 2023, then to Paris in 2024, in connection with the Olympic Games. The return to the United States marks a certain return to its roots. The calendar is also evolving. Last year, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 were unveiled on July 26. A presentation earlier this month would allow the brand to get a head start on its competitors, while avoiding interference with the American national holiday of July 4.

This Unpacked event could go well beyond just folding models. Samsung would also unveil a new Galaxy Watch, an Android-based mixed reality headset, and perhaps even a preview of the Galaxy Z Flip FE. A prototype of a three-pronged smartphone is also reportedly in the works. Meanwhile, the company has yet to unveil the Galaxy S25 Edge, which is scheduled for launch on May 13. The manufacturer is therefore making a series of announcements at a steady pace, illustrating its strategy of dominating the mobile sector.
