Split Fiction: Actress Sydney Sweeney confirmed in the film's cast

This is surprising and unexpected news, to say the least. And yet, Variety confirms today that the currently very popular actress, Sydney Sweeney, will indeed be headlining the adaptation of Split Fiction, the latest video game to success of Josef Fares and the Hazelight studio.

Sydney Sweeney in the role of Zoe?

Split Fiction: Actress Sydney Sweeney confirmed in the film's cast

In recent years, Sydney Sweeney has clearly been the trendy actress who excels in most of her roles, whether in films or series. The 27-year-old American actress, who has appeared in the series The White Lotus and Euphoria, but also in the films Immaculée and The Voyeurs, should soon be in the poster for a video game adaptation: Split Fiction. This is a rather surprising announcement from Variety, as the young woman is not really used to comic roles as we can see in Split Fiction. However, she is indeed in the cast and should, logically, play the role of Zoé, the author specializing in fantasy stories that players can embody in the game.

In terms of direction, it is normally Jon Chu (Wicked, Crazy Rich Asians) who should take care of it. Finally, we already know that it is Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Deadpool & Wolverine) who have been selected to write the screenplay.

Split Fiction has been available since March 6 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The game will be available from June 5 on Switch2. Upon its release, it was a huge critical and commercial success, allowing it to break three world records. The film adaptation was announced a few days later.

For their part, Josef Fares and the Hazelight studio have already moved on, confirming that they are working on their new production.

Regarding actress Sydney Sweeney, she should also be at the poster (and producer) for the adaptation of another video game film: OutRun, which will be produced and directed by Michael Bay.
