It was undoubtedly one of the worst-kept secrets of recent months. The Elder Scrolls 4 Remastered quickly went from persistent rumor to reality following numerous leaks. It was mainly the images unearthed on the official website of Virtuos, a specialist in remasters, remakes, and ports, that dispelled any doubts. Several usually well-informed insiders agreed that the official announcement would take place today, Monday, April 21, 2025, or at least this week. Guess what? It didn't miss.
The Elder Scrolls 4 Remastered finally made official
So no, we regret to announce that there will be no shadow drop today. The Elder Scrolls Oblivion Remastered will not be available tonight as rumors suggested. However, Bethesda is finally breaking its silence to confirm the existence of The Elder Scrolls 4 Remastered. The proper reveal will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 5 p.m. French time, during a livestream that can be viewed on both YouTube and Twitch. Suffice it to say that the hype is very high within the community of fans and players who will not miss the event.
As a reminder, the first images, unearthed on the official website of Virtuos, in charge of The Elder Scrolls 4 Remastered, suggested a large-scale project. While it will be called a remaster, it will visually have all the hallmarks of a remake. The various leaks have already confirmed that the game will be based on an overhaul on the Unreal Engine 5, which looks simply impressive. And as proof, this new version should require at least 120 GB of space on our hard drives, compared to 4 GB for the original game, released almost two decades ago now. Will The Elder Scrolls 4 Remastered be available tomorrow? That's the big question. As a reminder, the title would be available from its launch on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC, as well as for purchase in a classic and deluxe version on Xbox Series, PS5 and PC.
