Huawei is preparing to unveil its new smartwatch, the Watch 5. The first renderings reveal a revised design and new technology for interacting with the device. Here's what we already know: on this highly anticipated smartwatch.
Smartwatches are evolving rapidly to offer new, ever more practical features. Each generation brings its share of improvements in health, navigation, and even customization. In this sector, manufacturers are doubling their efforts to stand out with both technical and aesthetic innovations. Huawei is preparing to launch the Watch 5, a watch that promises some interesting new features. According to the first images spotted by 91Mobiles, the model adopts a round titanium case with very thin edges. The latter is protected by a sapphire crystal offering increased resistance to scratches and water.
More premium than the sport-oriented Huawei Watch GT5, the Huawei Watch 5 also comes directly after the Huawei Watch 4 Pro by bringing a thinner, lighter design and new touch sensors for the fingers. This evolution aims at users to the search for a high-end device that is as robust as it is sophisticated.
The Huawei Watch 5 introduces touch sensors and a high-end design
The design includes a classic rotating crown, a physical button and a new oval button housing two touch sensors. These could make it easier to launch health measurements or interact with certain applications, without using the touch screen. The Watch 5 will also integrate classic features such as blood oxygen level tracking (SpO2), step count, calories burned and probably a new hidden heart rate sensor behind the screen.
Huawei will offer two case sizes, 42 mm and 46 mm, and several colors: gold/beige, blue, white, green, brown, and black. Users will have the choice between titanium or silicone straps, some with a fabric finish for added comfort. price, here are the expected prices according to the models:
- 499 € for the standard
- 549 € for the higher-end
- 649 € for the titanium models or special editions
Its official launch is expected in the coming weeks, probably during May.
