Announced some time ago (in 2023), The Precinct was initially scheduled for the end of 2024. It was finally postponed and will be released on May 13 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The title, which received a demo last December and was a great success, promises to be a love letter to the first Grand Theft Auto games.
The Precinct: the tribute to GTA
It's now official, we'll be able to discover the entirety of The Precinct on May 13 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Developers Fallen Tree Games Ltd have just confirmed the information with a new trailer.
The Precinct is a game that is clearly inspired by the first Grand Theft Auto games in the late 90s with its top-down view. The game takes place in the same universe as American Fugitive (the studio's first game). You are thus immersed in the shoes of Nick Cordell Jr., the son of the late police chief Nick Cordell Sr. in the city of Averno City (a fictional place inspired by New York City) in 1983.
Get ready to start your career as a cop and fight crime in Averno City, a notorious city where crimes are rife. The game will offer many missions, between gunfights, car chases car or helicopter with numerous arrests and several rather well-executed legal proceedings.
In December 2024, The Precinct was entitled to a demo on Steam which was extremely well received by players. The game will be offered at 39.99 euros and will offer a limited physical edition on PS5 and Xbox Series X with:
- The physical game
- A steelbook
- A map of the city of Averno City
- The original soundtrack of the game to download
