The Galaxy S25 Edge has been the talk of the town for several months, and its launch should be imminent.
Samsung will launch a new high-end smartphone model this year, thinner and lighter than its competitors, dubbed Galaxy S25 Edge. The device was expected for this April, but the manufacturer would have finally given itself a few more weeks before presenting in detail this mobile with an innovative design.
According to information from SamMobile, the brand now plans to announce its Galaxy S25 Edge on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. There won't be a major Unpacked launch conference like the Galaxy S25 did; Samsung is expected to be content with streaming a smaller, probably pre-recorded, presentation online.
Galaxy S25 Edge: A Thinner, Lighter Galaxy S25+?
The source specifies that it doesn't know when the smartphone will be released. When it comes to smartphones, Samsung generally opens pre-orders right away, and the actual release date is relatively close. But with this special model, the strategy could change. We also don't know what the phone's availability will be, whether it will be sold in France, or how much inventory Samsung will put at provision.
As for the price, nothing is certain for the moment, but a leak suggests a price of 1,249 euros. For comparison, the Galaxy S25+, which has a screen of the same size (6.7 inches), costs 1,149 euros. It will be interesting to see what consumer interest there really is for this type of product, while Apple is preparing an iPhone 17 Air for the next school year. Paying more for a thinner design and a lighter smartphone, while battery life risks suffering because of a smaller battery, that's the choice we'll be given. Also be careful with the photo part: the best sensors might not be integrated into this type of device because of their size.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is expected with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, 12 GB of RAM and 256 or 512 GB of RAM depending on the configuration. It would come in silver, black and light blue colors and its frame would be made of titanium.
