In just under a week, Clair Obscur Expedition 33 has quickly positioned itself as a very potential and unexpected candidate for the title of game of the year 2025. Critics and players seem in any case unanimous in praising the masterful feat of Sandfall Interactive, who apparently did not expect such a warm reception. Now a little better recovered from its emotions, the small French studio of around thirty people is already starting to look into the future of his work, potentially in the form of DLC or a sequel.

Not content with offering a very competent turn-based RPG that has nothing to be ashamed of in illustrious inspirations like the Final Fantasy or Persona series, Clair Obscur Expedition 33 has brilliantly managed to stand out from the crowd thanks to its sublime artistic direction, and above all a story as intriguing as it is cryptic. This rather unique universe opens up to other narrative arcs, both as it is a film already in the pipeline than in a second installment, or even DLC.
In this regard, the lead writer of Clair Obscur Expedition 33, Jennifer Svedberg-Yen, gave an encouraging response to this effect to a fan on her Instagram account. The latter asked her by private message if Sandfall Interactive was considering painting a new story for us, particularly in the form of DLC. To which she replied: "I can't say anything concrete at the moment, we're honestly still recovering from everything that's happening. However, we agreed that, if the players really want it, we could do more. And given the reception of the game so far present, I would say the chances are good! ".
Clair Obscur could therefore still spoil us with the adventures of other expeditions, or explore still nebulous elements of this superb picture full of nuances. Naturally, we will have to be a little patient to see the color. Let us remember that the French studio Sandfall Interactive only has around thirty people. The enormous success of the game could, however, allow it to increase its staff to better launch a new expedition. Tomorrow will come.
