“An extremely satisfying finale,” Colby Minifie talks about The Boys season 5

It's almost the end for The Boys. After five seasons, the loose adaptation of Garth Ennis' comics is bowing out on Prime Video. In 2026, Billy Butcher, Hughie, and their friends will fight one last battle against the terrifying Seven led by a more powerful Homelander than ever. Completing such a journey is no easy feat, and Eric Kripke has no room for error. He must conclude his characters' adventures in just a few episodes, offering a satisfying ending for the audience. While the plot details are secret, and should remain so, initial information is emerging as filming is in full swing.

After several photos were posted on the main actors' accounts, it's Colby Minifie's turn to share his thoughts on this grand finale. During an interview with ScreenRant for the release of her film The Surrender, the actress shared a brief comment on these goodbyes to the superhero universe. The actress, who has played Ashley since season 1, is full of praise. She explains that she discovered the script recently.

Ashley on the road to redemption

A discreet figure at Vought in the early days, Ashley climbed the ranks to become one of the American company's leading figures. But this power is nothing compared to the power of the people she must manage on a daily basis. In season 4, it was all about immortalizing her silent revolution.

She teamed up with A-Train to try to overthrow Homelander. Tired of having a symbolic title of CEO and especially increasingly worried about the direction the company is taking, she will inject herself with the V serum. She will not, however, play on an equal footing with the leader of the Seven, since the latter has powers that no other superhero has... except for his father Soldier Boy.

A confrontation is still possible between Ashley and Homelander. The outcome remains a mystery, but it doesn't look good for the character who seems on the road to redemption. For now, the release date of The Boys season 5 remains a mystery. We do know, however, that the company hopes to deliver this salvo in 2026.

Note that spin-off series are in development, such as Vought Rising which will tell the story of the company's creation during World War II or The Boys: Mexico with Diego Luna and Gael Garcia Bernal. The Boys: Gen V is also set to return for a second round of episodes in 2025.
