Apple isn't waiting for its WWDC developer conference (which starts on June 9th this year) to unveil a series of new features related to accessibility. Among these new features is the display of a "nutri-score" sheet in the App Store.

Previously limited to communication on security and confidentiality, these sheets will now include a new section dedicated to the accessibility features of applications. The user will be able to know at a glance whether the app is compatible with VoiceOver, voice control, enlarged display for text, contrast and gesture reduction options, etc. This feature is so obvious that you wonder why we had to wait so long!
The Mac will also be getting a Magnifier app, well-known to iPhone and iPad users with vision problems. The principle is the same, it's still about helping people "magnify" their environment; After connecting a camera to the Mac (via USB or an iPhone), it will be possible to zoom in on the computer screen - which will be much larger and more comfortable than the screen of a smartphone or tablet.
The user will have at his disposal a set of tools to adjust brightness and contrast, apply a color filter and even correct perspective. The feature integrates with other accessibility options, such as text transcription.
In the same vein, the accessibility reader is a new reader mode for Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Vision Pro. Text display can be customized by changing font size, colors, spacing, etc. This feature can be launched from any app, and it's part of Loupe's arsenal.
iOS 18 introduced a system of vehicle motion indicators to help reduce motion sickness. This feature will also be integrated into macOS, allowing passengers to work in the car while avoiding potential inconveniences...
There are many other new features announced by Apple today, which we will discover further in iOS 19 and macOS 16. Let's remember this one: the Live Captions feature will finally transcribe live in French! Available since iOS 16 but only in English, it displays real-time subtitles of the audio coming out of the iPhone. Very useful during a phone call or a FaceTime call.
It was about time Apple introduced French (and other languages) for this feature: it's been the case for a long time on Android. The manufacturer is also adding support for the Apple Watch to Live Captions. You can leave your iPhone near a speaker (during a conference, for example) and follow the conversation transcribed in real time on your watch.
