Copilot is getting better and getting seven new features, some more interesting than others. Enough to make you abandon ChatGPT?
Microsoft is busy at the moment. Many new features have been announced for Windows, including a revamped Start menu. The publisher also announced an update for its AI assistant Copilot, which benefits from seven improvements. This is enough to catch up with tools like ChatGPT.
Copilot will now memorize your conversations to take your personal context and preferences into account in its responses. It “enriches your user profile and offers you tailored solutions, proactive suggestions, and timely reminders” for a personalized experience. Microsoft also announced that it is working on the possibility of customizing its appearance, which will be unique to each user.

Copilot also supports Actions. “Use simple chat prompts to ask Copilot to book tickets for an event, a dinner reservation, or a thoughtful gift,” explains Microsoft. The feature is compatible with 1-800-Flowers.com, Booking.com, Expedia, Kayak, OpenTable, Priceline, Tripadvisor, Skyscanner, Viator, and Vrbo. It's not specified, but based on our findings, this option is not currently available in France.
At the end of 2024, Microsoft launched Copilot Vision, a tool capable of analyzing the content displayed on the screen and interacting with it. This was only available on the web, it is now available on the desktop application for Windows and the mobile application for iOS and Android. The service also now includes a space that brings together your notes, content and searches, automatically organized by Copilot for greater clarity.
No one asked for it, but Copilot will also be able to... generate a personalized podcast based on your centers of interest or query you submit. The assistant also converts into a shopping comparison tool to find good deals and inform you of price drops.
Copilot also has an advanced search option, “which allows you to conduct complex, multi-step searches more efficiently”. It can do this by searching, analyzing, and combining information from online sources or large volumes of documents and images.
