We learned a few weeks ago that Jessica Jones would officially be making her return to the MCU for season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. Photographs from the set of this second season have just found their way online, and officially show the return of Krysten Ritter as the character.
Jessica Jones is officially back
The first season of Daredevil: Born Again was extremely well received by the press and viewers alike. Matt Corman and Chris Ord, the two showrunners, managed to find the perfect balance between a radical continuity of the three seasons of Marvel’s Daredevil by Drew Goddard, while inserting the story into the timeline of the MCU. Thus, Daredevil: Born Again is a solid revival, somewhere between respect for the source material and the ability to adapt to a much larger universe.
This first season ends with a promise. A promise that announces an explosive season 2, with the introduction of iconic characters from the Marvel’s Netflix universe. If the Punisher and the Kingpin are already present in the first season of Born Again, the 2nd season of the show should allow the reuse of other emblematic figures from Marvel’s Netflix series, like Jessica Jones, officially confirmed in this season 2. Krysten Ritter will reprise her role, and we already have the first images from the set to prove it.
The first images of the return of Jessica Jones
Krysten Ritter was the face of Jessica Jones during the three seasons of Marvel’s Jessica Jones. The first season was particularly successful and featured the confrontation between a broken heroine and a particularly Machiavellian and manipulative supervillain: the terrible Kilgrave, played by the iconic David Tennant. Jessica Jones and Daredevil have already crossed paths in the past during the series The Defenders, which allowed for a muscular crossover between the different Marvel/Netflix series.
Besides Jessica Jones and the Punisher, we don't yet know who will be at the party in season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. Hopefully, the series will also bring Luke Cage, Elektra, and Iron Fist back into the equation.
