Death Stranding 2 Makes a Big Announcement and Unveils a Nice Surprise

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach had to make a big change because of GTA 6, but ultimately, it's great news for players. During an episode of his radio show, Hideo Kojima revealed that the game could have been released in September, instead of June 26, 2025, but the shadow of GTA 6 led KJP to change this date. This sequel will therefore be available early, even before the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6, which was postponed, and a big announcement was made about it with a nice surprise.

Death Stranding 2 will not be delayed on PS5

Death Stranding 2 On the Beach is scheduled for June 26, 2025, exclusively on PS5, but it will be playable early on June 24, 2025, if you opt for the Digital Deluxe Edition or the physical Collector's Edition available on the PlayStation Direct store. Either way, you can mark those dates in red on your calendar because Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions have announced that DS2 On the Beach has gone "Gold."

"Death Stranding 2: On the Beach has gone gold! The journey begins soon - just a little while to wait until June 26," the studio announced. What does this mean? That Kojima Productions has completed development and that the final version of the game is in the studio's hands, and in this case, in the hand of Hideo Kojima in the image below. It's unclear if there will be a massive day one patch by then, but we should certainly expect an update either way. That's the first announcement, but Death Stranding 2 has revealed something else for collectors.

A Drawbridge collector controller for DS2 On the Beach

After the PS5 The Last of Us controller, a nice surprise awaits players of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach with the announcement of an exclusive DualSense in the game's colors. An accessory that is, to say the least, sober and less original than the one from Death Stranding, personalized with the Drawbridge insignia and motto. The new organization led by Fragile that Sam Porter Bridges belongs to in this sequel.
