Fallout 76 is getting a new update, with a highly anticipated new feature

Despite a launch that could be described as difficult, Fallout 76 now seems to have found its stride over the years. With a strong and highly engaged community, the title continues to be regularly updated by Bethesda, which is always looking for new ways to encourage its audience to stay engaged with the game. And the company proves it to us once again with the announcement of season 21, Gone Fission, which will mark the arrival of a new feature that has been teased for a while now: fishing.

Fishing is coming to Fallout 76

We knew it was only a matter of time before it officially arrived in Fallout 76. Because for those who don't know, the activity had recently entered the testing phase on the game's public servers dedicated to this purpose, which allowed Bethesda to measure its reception among players. And it seems that things went well because the time has now come for everyone to indulge in this fabulous activity, which will enrich the experience starting June 3rd.

To start, everyone will be entitled to a basic fishing rod, which can then be improved and customized according to your tastes. In addition to changing its appearance with new paint jobs, it will be possible, for example, to modify the reel and spool for better efficiency. Of course, you will also have to think about obtaining bait, the quality of which can also be improved by completing daily challenges, participating in public events or unlocking seasonal rewards.

Because the higher the quality of the bait, the more likely you are to catch rare fish. Some can only be found in specific locations, while others will change every month. As for fishing itself, initial feedback seems to indicate that it is a very classic activity, and therefore very easy to get started with. As it stands, Fallout 76 should hardly differ from some other games in this regard, such as Far Cry 5 or Animal Crossing for example.

A season 21 full of new features

Of course, all the fish caught can then be added to recipes and cooked to bring you special benefits. And that's just a few of the new features in Season 21, which will also see the arrival of a large number of objects revolving around, we'll give you a thousand guesses, the theme of fishing. Boats, buoys, decorative bottles with an octopus inside, fishing rod stands, diving backpacks... In short, there's plenty to do. Note, however, that some of them will require a Fallout 1st subscription to be collected.
