Google releases NotebookLM on iOS with amazing audio news

Google releases NotebookLM on iOS with amazing audio news

While the week promises to be very busy for Google fans, especially with Google I/O starting this Tuesday, May 20, Google started the week with a new application that was highly anticipated in the world of AI.

Indeed, as announced earlier on the application's Google Play page a month ago, NotebookLM has just made its appearance. iPhone users shouldn't be disappointed either, as the app is also expected to be available starting today, including in France.

While the tool was deployed in 2023 by Google, NotebookLM didn't initially generate much enthusiasm from the general public. Between the rapid progress made by OpenAI and the advances made by Google Gemini, the note-taking assistant is still struggling to establish itself, so it still suffers from a lack of awareness.

NotebookLM, an AI-powered note-taking assistant

If you've never had the opportunity to use NotebookLM, this new app is the perfect opportunity to catch up! Concretely, this application is both an assistant that facilitates note-taking via artificial intelligence, but it is above all its search and popularization features that are most appreciated.

From the application, users should be able to create their own notebooks, with the possibility of adding sources as they go. NotebookLM is notably capable of integrating documents such as PDF files, web pages, YouTube videos, or simple text content, to summarize them for users later.

Through the NotebookLM interface, users can even ask questions to become more familiar with a topic.

Podcasts generated at

Highly appreciated by current NotebookLM users, podcast generation is also accessible from the mobile application. In this version, users will have the ability to listen to podcasts in the background, just as they would with a traditional podcast application.

For users who wish, the generated content will even be accessible offline. On the other hand, the feature allowing you to interact directly with podcast presenters, to ask questions live, should only be accessible to users in beta version.

While Google had just announced the closure of Google Podcasts last year, this is a way for the company to get back into audio content.
