After the disaster last week, with the announcement of the delay of GTA 6 to 2026, Rockstar Games manages to console us with a pour of information about the game. Only four days after the bad news, Rockstar shared a second trailer, without warning, as well as 70 official images and 42 new artworks. Enough to satisfy fans and help them wait another year until the game's release on May 26, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Among all the information that has been shared, we have the opportunity to discover the first eight characters of the game, including Lucia and Jason, the main protagonists of the adventure. Here is a quick overview of the different faces that will accompany you during your stay in Vice City and Leonida.
Lucia & Jason, the Bonnie & Clyde 2026
This duo promises to be legendary and will make a splash in the list of the most iconic duos in pop culture. Jason and Lucia seem to shine with their charisma and quite different styles. If in the first trailer, it was already certain that Lucia was a woman of character who likes to take things in hand, we were a little more skeptical about Jason who seemed to be very withdrawn and not really up to his partner.
In this second trailer, we discover a much more imposing, classier man, who also knows how to take the lead. This promises to be a sparkling duo, ready to take control of Leonida.
For her part, Lucia Caminos is described as a woman ready to do anything to achieve her goal: a dream life, in wealth and luxury, to lift her family out of poverty. We learn that she comes from Liberty City (the city of GTA III and GTA IV). From a young age, she was raised "the hard way" by her father, who taught her to fight before she could even walk.
While Lucia tries to provide for her family, she makes a mistake that lands her in prison. Luckily, she is released and remains determined, despite everything, to achieve her dream. But this time, she's well aware that the slightest mistake could cost her dearly.
Her meeting with Jason could be the perfect opportunity to achieve her goals.
Jason Duval didn't have a gentle childhood either. From a young age, he was left to his own devices and hung out with drug dealers and other crooks who would lead him down a wrong path. In an attempt to get his life back on track, he decides to join the army. Unfortunately, it doesn't really help him.
After his service, he settles in the Leonida Keys, south of Vice City, where he meets Brian Heder, a specialist in contraband trafficking who allows him to squat in one of his houses for free in exchange for help with his business. Meeting Lucia could be the best thing that ever happened to him, or the worst.
Brian and Cal, the Keys' Safe Guys
Brian Heder and Cal Hampton are described as Jason's "safe guys". Brian is an ordinary drug dealer who lived through the heyday of smuggling in the Keys. Today, he owns a boat company with his third wife, Lori. It is with this company that he manages to transport his new contraband goods.
Brian has been in the business long enough to delegate the dirty work. He's a friend of Jason's, and he lets him live for free on one of his properties, as long as he agrees to help him with his extortions.
For his part, Cal is clearly the real redneck, at the bottom of America's ladder, and he's perfectly happy with it. Don't expect to see Cal on the field. He prefers to stay safe at home, behind his PC, intercepting Coast Guard communications with a few beers and as many private browsing tabs.
He's a very good friend of Brian and Jason. In fact, one of his favorite pastimes is sharing his occasional paranoia with those close to him. For him, the world is run by psychopaths and we have to deal with it.
Boobie, Dre'Quan & Real Dimez, Vice City's Contacts
The Keys and the Leonida region are great. But the heart of the region, where all the major business takes place, is Vice City. It's the sun and entertainment capital of America. And it's going to be very important to make the right contacts to survive in the city of Vice.
And Boobie is a legend in the city, and he knows it very well. He's one of the few to have transformed his criminal activity into a veritable legal empire that includes real estate, a strip club, and a recording studio.
Behind his very "individualistic" exterior, Boobie always has a smile on his face, except when he's talking business. For him, business is extremely important. But partnerships and friendships remain important, as evidenced by his business with the young, up-and-coming music mogul Dre’Quan and their label Only Raw Records, which they run together and which takes up a lot of his time.
For his part, Dre’Quan Priest was never really a gangster. Even when he was on the streets, dealing drugs, he only thought about one thing: making it in music. Over the years, he was able to create his label Only Raw Records and sign the very popular band: Real Dimez. From now on, he only thinks about this and intends to permanently move away from the streets and striptease shows in Boobie's club to live only from the music scene in Vice City.
Bae-Luxe and Roxy are the two members of the group Real Dimez. These two high school friends quickly realized that there was a much more lucrative and safer business than the street and drug dealing: social media and racy rap. After struggling for a long time, they managed to release a big hit with local rapper DWNPLY, which helped propel them to the top of the bill.
Five years later, they decided to sign with Dre’Quan and the label Only Raw Records to give their career a second wind, hoping that lightning could strike twice in the same place!
Raul Bautista: Mr. Heist
What would a GTA be without heists? In almost every game in the series, we've had our own spectacular heist. From the Vice City bank robbery with Phil Cassidy (GTA Vice City, 2002), to the Las Venturas casino robbery (GTA San Andreas, 2004), the legendary Liberty City bank robbery with Nikeo Bellic and Packie (GTA IV, 2008), and of course, the series of heists in GTA V, the GTA series is synonymous with heists.
Well, Raul Bautista could well be a very important character in GTA6, since he's simply a veteran bank robber always looking for partners willing to risk big to win big. Raul is described as a confident, charming, cunning, and reckless guy. He has principles. For him, experience counts and a professional must always adapt.
