It's now been 48 hours since the second trailer for GTA 6 was shared by Rockstar Games. As with the first trailer in December 2023, the video quickly went viral and recorded a record score of 475 million views in just 24 hours across all streaming platforms, including 68.8 million views on YouTube alone.
While many internet users were beginning to doubt the game's real-life rendering, Rockstar Games spoke out to confirm that its trailer was indeed made from gameplay and cinematic sequences, directly captured on PS5.
GTA 6: the game that will shake up the industry
Rockstar Games is one of the elite in the video game industry. To enjoy their new games, you have to wait a long time, a very long time. No less than 13 years between GTA 5 and GTA 6. And no less than eight years of waiting between Red Dead Redemption II, the studio's latest game, and GTA 6. It's a long time, but it's worth it when you see the result and the prowess the company offers us.
The trailer for GTA6 is so impressive that many internet users have begun to question the final rendering of the game, confirming that it was not gameplay footage and that the trailer was modified and that it was not the final rendering of the game. To silence all the theories, Rockstar Games took to its social networks.
There is now no more doubt possible. The Digital Foundry team has just clarified that the trailer was indeed made on a PS5 Standard and not a PS5 Pro. And that this trailer is a real technical feat.
GTA 6 will arrive, if all goes well, on May 26, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
