Initially scheduled for this fall, Grand Theft Auto VI, aka GTA 6, will ultimately not be released until May 2026. To no one's surprise, Rockstar announced this Friday, May 2, 2025, that its flagship title would ultimately not be released for another year. "We hope you understand that we need more time to bring you the level of quality you expect," Rockstar Games justified in a statement released this Friday. Of course, it didn't take long for the internet to implode, with fans reacting immediately to an announcement that many had not expected. A delay announced months ago by insiders, GTA VI requires even more development time. After more than a decade, fans are probably not a few months away.
