The Harry Potter series, which will have seven seasons (one season per book), will cost HBO a lot of money. The studios have reportedly planned an impressive budget for the series, stopping at nothing to make J.K. Rowling's magical world as realistic as possible. In Leavesden, England, where Warner Bros. have studios of approximately 50,000 m2, a small town is currently being built. For a whopping $1 billion, they are building Privet Drive, the residential neighborhood where the Dursley family lives, as well as all the amenities that the child actors in the series will need access to.

Some of the cast of the Harry Potter series will be between 9 and 11 years old when the first season is filmed. So that the child actors can continue their studies while the series is being filmed, Warner Bros. also builds a school. But that's not all, since special facilities are also needed for the dogs, birds of prey (hello Hedwig), rodents, snakes, spiders, and horses that will appear throughout the series. The new version of Privet Drive is built on vacant land near the studios, and demonstrates Warner Bros.' commitment. in the project, as The Sun reports:

Here’s what Privet Drive could look like in the HARRY POTTER TV series!

Warner Bros. has committed fully to the new TV series, planning to produce several long-running series over the next decade. They therefore consider injecting a huge amount of money into building this infrastructure to be a worthwhile investment that will eventually pay off. What they'll have is a small metropolis that will provide not only the backdrop for the show, but also all the facilities the huge cast and crew will need.

Given the cost of this infrastructure, one hopes for their sake...
