Indiana Jones & the Ancient Circle gets a new update, what's new?

Historical archaeologist Indiana Jones recently returned to action in a game recounting a new adventure. We find our hero and his whip in 1937, between the events of the first and third films, just before World War II. With more than favorable critical acclaim, the title quickly attracted audiences. It thus passed the 4 million player mark in early 2025. To ensure long-term loyalty, Bethesda and the MachineGames studio are still working on its support. That's why a new update is waiting for you now.

Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle continues to improve

Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle has been released in a well-polished version. Despite everything, bugs still remain. MachineGames, in collaboration with publisher Bethesda, released a new patch last week, available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5. The experience promises to be even more optimized.

Among the issues fixed by Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle update 4 are equipment-related issues and problems that prevented story progression. Additionally, an achievement/trophy that some players may have been unable to unlock due to a bug has been fixed. This is the "Archivist" title, which can be earned by collecting all the journal entries.

Indiana Jones & the Ancient Circle gets a new update, what's new?

In addition, the new free update for Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle takes care to improve the experience on PlayStation 5. Thanks to the studio's work, using the DualSense controller will be more comfortable. Adaptive Triggers have received several fixes for better balance when using them.

Full Patch Notes

  • Fixed an issue where quickly switching equipped items with the d-pad while picking up other items could permanently lose important progression items, such as the camera, lighter, or whip. Players who encountered this issue should regain these items upon launching the game after installing the Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle patch.
  • Fixed an issue where the Iraqi cave door would be closed when revisiting this level. This prevented the main chamber from being visited again.
  • Improved the DualSense Wireless Controller's adaptive triggers to prevent them from quietly "clicking" when looking at friendly NPCs.
  • Added a menu option to change the strength of the DualSense Wireless Controller's adaptive triggers in Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle, including a "Disabled" option.
    • Note: For Steam players, Steam input is now disabled by default for PlayStation controllers, so more players can experience DualSense features on PC. If you wish to re-enable Steam input, you can do so from the Controller section of Game Properties in the Steam Launcher.
  • Fixed an issue where the "Forgotten Page" activity note might not appear in Sunan's Hut in Sukhothai if you did not pick it up at the hotel upon arrival in Sukhothai.
  • Fixed a known issue preventing players from obtaining the "Archivist" achievement. After installing the hotfix, players should be able to obtain the achievement from the start of the game. Other causes for this bug may exist. Then contact Bethesda Support with details if you continue to experience this issue.
