Lilo & Stitch live-action version

In 2002, the greats Dan DeBlois and Chris Sanders brought Lilo & Stitch to life. An endearing science fiction film, somewhere between The Iron Giant and E.T., Lilo & Stitch has become an absolute reference in Disney programming. A touching, endearing, funny, and fast-paced film, nominated for the Oscar for Best Animated Feature in 2003. At the box office, for a budget of $80 million, the feature film brought in more than $273 million.

Obviously, at a time when Disney is looking to adapt all its animated classics into live-action, Lilo & Stitch Stitch has also been through the mill of this more or less beneficial phenomenon for the works of our childhood. For this new version, it is the filmmaker Dean Fleischer Camp, responsible for the immense Marcel and the Seashell (with his shoes) who is in charge of the direction. As for casting, the production opted for Hawaiian actors unknown to the general public like Maia Kealoha and Sydney Elizabeth Agudong.

Is there a post-credits scene?

We know Disney's appetite for post-credits scenes. A phenomenon that has become enormously popular thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). But other Disney franchises, like Pirates of the Caribbean or some Pixar films, have also taken the plunge. But what about Lilo & Stitch? Well, unsurprisingly, the upcoming Disney film does indeed contain a post-credits scene. This is a way for Disney to prepare the ground for a possible sequel if the blockbuster manages to find its audience and its box office success. A post-credits sequence that occurs after the first credits, so no need to wait until the end of the final credits.

As a reminder, the adaptation by Marc Webb only grossed 205 million dollars at the box office. We'll see you in theaters this Wednesday, May 21 to find out the result.
