Take-Two Interactive is pulling out all the stops ahead of its upcoming financial results release. In one week, we've had a comprehensive presentation of Borderlands 4, a second trailer for GTA 6, and some screenshots, and now the company is revealing Mafia 4: The Old Country. One of the publisher's big games, it's slated for release this summer on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. We finally know what this next installment, which is all about authenticity, will truly look like, while the title has confirmed its release date with a nice surprise.
Gameplay for Mafia 4: The Old Country
Mafia 4: The Old Country will take Mafia 3, GTA 6, and even many current games by abandoning the open world. Indeed, here, it will be a more linear and narrative experience in order to tell a strong story, to accentuate the atmosphere even more, and to offer a less choppy rhythm than what we can sometimes have with open-world games. It will therefore be impossible to wander freely in areas as far as the eye can see doing whatever.
In addition, Mafia The Old Country also aims to be more authentic than ever and will offer players a Sicilian dubbing. And if you are bilingual, you can even choose an interface and subtitles in Italian. In this episode, we take control of Enzo Favara who will have to prove himself to the Cosa Nostra and survive in the ruthless world of organized crime in the Underworld of the 1900s in Sicily. A whole program that promises violent scenes and surely its share of twists and turns.
At PAX East 2025, developers Hangar 13 presented Mafia 4 The Old Country with a very first gameplay trailer, and behind-the-scenes looks at the creative processor, including the music in the game. This presentation also confirmed what we already knew from the Steam leak: the release date. Mafia The Old Country will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on August 8, 2025, for €49.99. A much lower price than usual, as the standard price is now €79.99, which is a nice surprise.
