Ninja Gaiden 4 promises to be a big hit, the studio is selling us a dream

It was one of the big surprises of the Xbox Direct that kicked off 2025: the strong return of Ryu Hayabusa to our consoles and PCs. His legendary stealth allowed him to cut to the chase during the conference with some major announcements: first, the shadowdrop of the release of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, then the reveal of a highly anticipated sequel. Yes! Ninja Gaiden 4 is indeed a reality and its launch is approaching. The studio behind this new project is reminding us of its good memories this week by giving news of this future opus.

Ninja Gaiden 4 will hit hard in 2025

The franchise had remained in the shadows in recent years, so we didn't expect such a resounding comeback. Yet, it's very real. Following the announcement of Ragebound at the end of 2024, the main saga is back in the spotlight. On the one hand, the remaster of the second installment received a very warm welcome at the beginning of the year, while Ninja Gaiden 4 is gearing up for a late-year release.

Four months after lifting the veil on this new episode, Team Ninja is selling us a dream! The studio has recompiled part of the first trailer to give us a better look at the gameplay. It also warns that the game will "rekindle in you the burning feeling of a challenging hack & slash." Although it offers an adjustable difficulty to pave the way for newcomers, seasoned warriors should expect intense combat. "From Bloodraven form to ultimate techniques," this new installment is going to hit hard!

Fans of the franchise should rediscover the sensations of yesteryear and appreciate their modernization in Ninja Gaiden 4. Team Ninja, in collaboration with PlatinumGames, is doing everything to ensure this comeback is as captivating as it is memorable. The two teams are banking on a duo of protagonists to renew the experience. Thus, the legendary Ryu Hayabusa will see his destiny linked to that of the young and promising Yakumo. As the video shows, the latter is not lacking in edge either!

We don't yet have an exact date for Ninja Gaiden 4. However, this gameplay clip should reassure the most impatient. The teams are confident enough to concretely recall the game's release in fall 2025, so we shouldn't face a delay. You can then get ready and add the title to your wishlist right away on PS5, Xbox Series X|S or PC (Steam).
