Nintendo Switch 2: Another big game confirmed at launch

Nintendo Switch 2: Another big game confirmed at launch

To motivate the masses to buy a new console, the most important thing is, of course, to have a list of games that will make you want it. The Nintendo Switch 2 will be no exception with its release on June 5th, which will come with around twenty titles present at its launch. Among them, of course, are Mario Kart World, but also big third-party games such as Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition. Another big third-party game, from SEGA, Nintendo's former rival, will also be part of it.

To accompany its launch, the Nintendo Switch 2 will ultimately have relatively few truly exclusive titles. In addition to Mario Kart World, fans will mainly be delighted by "improved" versions of big titles from its illustrious big sister, such as Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, and Super Mario Party Jamboree. The console will therefore also rely heavily on third-party games to expand its launch lineup.

In this regard, SEGA has confirmed that Sonic x Shadow Generations, released on October 25, 2024, will be among the games available when the Nintendo Switch 2 arrives on June 5. As a reminder, this is a remaster of the excellent Sonic Generations, with the added bonus, as its name suggests, of a whole arc dedicated to its eternal rival, Shadow. A very complete version of an already very popular game, which masterfully mixes old-school 2D levels with more recent 3D levels, even if this has not always convinced fans of the blue hedgehog.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is therefore adorned with a rather substantial launch line-up, while waiting for other big titles to come later, such as the promising Donkey Kong Bananza, or two other games published by SEGA: Puyo Puyo Tetris 25 and Yakuza 0 Director's Cut. Will these twenty titles present at its release be enough to convince the crowds to buy the new console from Big N, priced at 470 euros? See you from June 5 to find out.
