One week to the day before the release of the Nintendo Switch 2, the famous chain specializing in video games has announced that around fifty of its stores across France will be open at midnight. We'll tell you everything!
Around fifty Micromania stores will open at midnight
The release of a Nintendo console is always an event! Since the release of the Famicom in Japan in 1983, the Kyoto-based manufacturer has continued to revolutionize video games. While the Japanese company has never emphasized the power of its machines, often lagging behind the competition, Nintendo has nevertheless offered games that have become models of gameplay. The Nintendo Switch, released in 2017, has included a host of memorable games, including the diptych The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Animal Crossing New Horizons, Metroid Dread, Luigi's Mansion 3, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, not to mention the many ports, remakes and other remasters.
Starting June 5, 2025, Big N will release its brand new hybrid console: the Nintendo Switch 2. Larger and more powerful than its predecessor, the Switch 2 not only offers power that approaches current standards, but it also includes features that the original Nintendo Switch did not have. We are thinking in particular of using the JoyCon as computer mice (some games will highlight this new way of playing, notably Metroid Prime 4: Beyond) but also Game Chat, which nevertheless raises some concerns among players due to certain clauses announced by Nintendo.
In any case, the Nintendo Switch 2 release remains one of the video game events of 2025. While the Japanese company can congratulate itself on an impressive number of pre-orders across the world - a sign that despite its exceptionally high prices the console is likely to sell tens of millions of copies -, the Micromania chain announced on its website that a Fifty of its stores will open their doors on June 5th at midnight for the occasion. Be careful though! Only customers who have pre-ordered the Nintendo Switch 2 will be able to leave with their console under their arm. Others will still be able to console themselves with Nintendo Switch 2 goodies and make reservations. The complete list can be found on the Micromania website.
