A more practical interface on all portable consoles thanks to SteamOS, Xiaomi's electric car under fire from critics, five essential settings for the security of your Microsoft account, this is the recap of the week
SteamOS could soon arrive on all portable consoles to offer a more ergonomic interface, Xiaomi is receiving a string of bad reviews for its SU7 electric car, and the acquisition of SFR is pitting two telecom giants, Bouygues Telecom and Free, against each other. This week, we're taking stock of five security options designed to better protect your Microsoft account.
SFR Acquisition: Two Particularly Motivated Buyers
The sale of SFR cannot be avoided, and two telecom giants find themselves in competition. Indeed, Xavier Niel (Free/Iliad) and Martin Bouygues (Bouygues Telecom) seem to want to take control of the operator in order to strengthen their market position. According to our colleagues at La Lettre de l'Expansion, the bids continue to rise. This sale could bring in up to 5 billion euros for Patrick Drahi, owner of Altice, and help reduce the group's debt. The decision of the French and European authorities is expected in September.

Xiaomi SU7 electric car: a bad start in China
The Xiaomi SU7, a very aggressively priced electric car (starting at €28,000 in China), is facing some production flaws. Indeed, it just finished last in a Chinese ranking of electric sedans, with a score of 239 points, well below the market average. This ranking is based on feedback from consumers, who reported numerous manufacturing defects. Xiaomi, still a new player in the automotive industry, will have to correct these problems before its planned launch in Europe by 2027, while adapting to very strict European safety standards.

SteamOS could finally solve the flaw in portable console interfaces
While the Steam Deck offers a fluid interface and practical, many other devices like those from Asus, MSI or Lenovo lack ergonomics. Good news, Steam has announced the launch of a SteamOS compatibility program to allow other portable consoles to benefit from this overlay. This could transform the user experience on these devices and solve one of the biggest flaws of current portable consoles, even those running Windows.

Our tests of the week
Renault 4 E-Tech Electric: an electric city car with a successful design but limited autonomy
The Renault 4 E-Tech Electric is inspired by the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric while bringing improvements, particularly in terms of comfort for families thanks to its larger trunk and more spacious rear space. However, its highway range, especially in winter, remains a weak point, and its high price for a city car could put off some buyers. The Renault 4 E-Tech remains competitive against the competition, which struggles to offer better in this price range.

Decathlon Rockrider E-Activ 100: a high-performance e-bike at a very attractive price
The Rockrider E-Activ 100 from Decathlon stands out for its excellent value for money. Even if the brakes lack bite and we regret the number of gears limited to 6, this attractive electric bike is equipped with a powerful motor and will be an excellent choice for those looking for an affordable and high-performance e-bike. A few extra features, like a kickstand or a luggage rack, could make it even more versatile.

Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro review: a refined design but too high a price
The Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro marks a real upgrade with its elegant design and large, bright display, visually rivaling more expensive models like the Apple Watch. It offers good battery life, comprehensive activity and health tracking, and lets you manage calls and texts from the watch. While its premium sensors and features justify its higher price, it's a shame that some options are limited to Huawei users and that its app store is also limited. The Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro remains an excellent option for those looking for a stylish and high-performance watch.

CMF Phone 2 Pro: the best smartphone in its price range
If you're looking for a smartphone with good value for money, don't need an AI editing tool, don't care about wired charging speed, and can tolerate fairly thick screen bezels, the CMF Phone 2 Pro is for you. It's the best device in its segment and will win you over with its attractive design, good battery life, photo quality, and the originality of the Nothing OS system. We love its high-quality OLED display, the lack of spam, and the microSD card support.

Galaxy S25 Edge: a smartphone that focuses on thinness and premium design
If you like thin and light smartphones, the Galaxy S25 Edge might appeal to you. Its QHD+ AMOLED screen and Snapdragon 8 Elite processor ensure impressive display quality and performance, while the 200-megapixel camera sensor guarantees good photos. In terms of battery life, we're not convinced by the 3900 mAh battery and the 25W slow charging. The Galaxy S25 Edge seems more aimed at fans of premium design and thinness, than gamers or photographers looking for a complete device. Pre-orders are open, but beware, the retail price exceeds 1200 euros.
