Next week, a particularly exciting week awaits gamers. Starting on June 5, millions of people around the world will finally have the opportunity to get their hands on the Nintendo Switch 2, which will mark the beginning of a new era for the Kyoto-based company. The following day, the summer conferences will kick off, with the Summer Game Fest and all the announcements it entails. And apparently, everything suggests that Nintendo will also be involved with a Nintendo Direct.
A new Nintendo Direct on the way?
That's what Brazilian journalist Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe said during a live broadcast this weekend on his Twitch channel. According to his information, the Japanese company is preparing to hold a new edition of its Nintendo Direct, probably dedicated to the arrival of its new machine. And even if the journalist is not taking a huge risk with such information, Nintendo having made a habit of communicating every summer for several years now, this should certainly please the players.
Because as it stands, the question of Nintendo's presence at the summer conferences could still legitimately arise. With three statements already made since the beginning of the year, it wouldn't have been unreasonable to think that the Japanese company could wait a little longer, especially with the imminent release of the Switch 2. But it finally seems that a new Nintendo Direct is indeed in the pipeline, probably to highlight the games coming to the new console and later this year.
A range of games to show
On the occasion of this potential Nintendo Direct, the exact date of which is however unknown, we should hear again about Mario Kart World, the flagship title of the Switch 2 launch, alongside future titles like Donkey Kong Bananza, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and Pokémon Legends Z-A. The company should also undoubtedly take the opportunity to highlight the arrival of new content for some of its games, such as Mario Party Superstar and Kirby and the Forgotten World, without forgetting the porting of all the announced third-party games. In short, there would be plenty to do!
