Collectors and physics enthusiasts, this news is for you! On February 14th, just one year after the release of Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered, Aspyr and Saber Interactive returned with the sequel to Lara Croft's adventures. This time, the three latest installments developed by Core Design were brought together in a new compilation simply called Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered. But once again, only a digital version of the game was available until now. Fortunately, that will soon change.
Physical editions of Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered announced
Indeed, like Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered, episodes 4-5-6 of Tomb Raider will also be getting a physical version. The information was recently confirmed by Limited Run Games, which is once again taking charge of its production. Two editions will then be available. The first, the Standard Edition, will only offer the game in boxed format on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. The second, the Collector's Edition, will come with a series of goodies.
Be careful, however, don't expect a Collector's Edition as comprehensive as the previous one. For this second batch of remasters, Limited Run Games seems to have scaled back its ambitions. In addition to the physical game on the aforementioned platforms, you will also be entitled to a selection of music on CD, lithographs in the colors of Obscura's paintings, pins inspired by the Amulet of Horus and Iris, and finally a keychain with Lara's weapons. All in a pretty trapezoidal box.
No announcement in France for now
The advantage, however, is that the price of this Collector's Edition has also been revised downwards. It will now cost you only $79.99, excluding shipping. This is much less than that of Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered, which cost hundreds of dollars. As for the Standard Edition, no surprise: $39.99 will be enough. You will have noticed, however, that the prices we give you are in dollars. Don't panic, that's normal! Because at the time of writing, only Limited Run Games currently offers these editions for sale.
Like the first compilation, Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered should soon be available for sale in our country. At least for the Standard Edition, because there is a good chance that the Collector's Edition will remain a Limited Run Games exclusive. This is also an opportunity to point out that yes, this time, no Deluxe Edition seems to be on the agenda. Finally, note that pre-orders for the Collector's Edition will begin on May 13th and end on June 15th.
