Four million players in the space of four days. A peak of over 216,000 players on Steam. Nearly 100,000 players connected daily to Valve's launcher. There's no doubt about it: for a remaster released as a shadow drop during a busy period, The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered is a real success. And the latest data regarding its performance in the American market won't make us think otherwise. Quite the opposite, in fact, since it's already established itself as one of the biggest successes of the year!
Oblivion Remastered is a hit in the United States
This is indeed what Mat Piscatella, analyst and executive director at Circana Retail Tracking Service, revealed. In a post published on BlueSky, the latter indicates that in addition to having taken the lead in sales the week following its release, that of April 26, Oblivion Remastered has already climbed to third place on the podium of the best-selling games of 2025. It is thus just behind Monster Hunter Wilds and Assassin's Creed Shadows, which have also had an excellent start in recent weeks.
It should be noted, however, that this data is based on the amount of revenue generated by the titles, and not on the number of sales made, which remains unknown for the time being. But this does not detract from the performance achieved by the Bethesda title which, let us remember, is sold at the recommended price of only €55. Not to mention its presence in the Xbox Game Pass, which is naturally not taken into account in the data shared by Piscatella. A real feat, then, which only bodes well for the future of The Elder Scrolls.
Can't wait for The Elder Scrolls 6!
Because if there's one thing this success can measure, it's how eagerly players are waiting for the franchise's return. And now that Starfield is behind us, we hope to soon have news of The Elder Scrolls 6, which hasn't given the slightest sign of life since its announcement at E3 2018. Until then, we can fortunately console ourselves by diving headlong into Oblivion Remastered. Because it has to be said: after more than ten years of Skyrim in all its forms, it feels good!
