Trimyxs: the accessory that cuts the grass under the rotofil’s feet

Trimyxs: the accessory that cuts the grass under the rotofil’s feet

The story begins with Aaron Halik, a young man from Minnesota who spent his summers maintaining the neighborhood lawns. Mowing? No problem. But the real nightmare was the finishing touches: the edges, the nooks and crannies, the grass under the fences. Going back over it with a noisy, heavy, and often temperamental edger, no thanks. He then thought there must be a way to do it in one pass. And that's how the idea for Trimyxs was born: a metal arm attached to the rear wheel of the mower, with a cutting head that follows its movement.

An invention born between two mowed lawns

Once the mower is started, Trimyxs gets to work: it trims the edges, shaves along the paths, and tackles inaccessible areas. No need to change tools or go over everything twice. A small lever allows you to activate it or not as needed, and the head pivots to also act as an edger. In short: you push, Trimyxs does the rest.

The concept seems simple, but it took Aaron five years to turn it from dream to reality. Evenings, weekends, 3D-printed prototypes, and real-life testing... it all went into it. He even tinkered with a string to trigger both the mower and the string trimmer on his first versions. Not very academic, but it worked.

And he didn't do it alone: his company was started in the family basement, with his parents as partners and his fiancée as technical support. Since then, Trimyxs has won several awards in the United States (including the Trailblazer Challenge and a Retailers Choice Award) and is now sold for $199 (around €185) on the official website.

The accessory is lightweight, robust, and fits most lawnmowers thanks to a wheel-mounted attachment system. And don't panic about the technical side: the line advances by itself, so no need to use a screwdriver when it breaks.

The first user reviews are rather enthusiastic. Those who have tested Trimyxs especially praise the time savings and ease of use. No more need to lug two machines around, or bend over in all directions to scrape corners. Some also highlight the very practical side for large gardens or areas with many obstacles. Assembly requires no special tools and can be done in just a few minutes.

Today, Trimyxs is starting to make a name for itself among both amateur gardeners and professionals. The kind of idea we would all have liked to buy before the next mowing.
