The last representative of the old world at Marvel? While the chaos surrounding the production of Daredevil: Born Again has forced the House of Ideas to change its approach—to rethink its series as true productions for the small screen and no longer as additional content to its cinematic universe—Ironheart arrives with some first images that are, to say the least, confusing. As expected, the revolution initiated by the return of Matt Murdock will have to wait a little longer.
The trailer introduces the heroine of this project, directly linked to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and especially to Iron Man. Riri Williams, a robotics genius, has developed a suit of armor similar to Tony Stark's. As an antagonist emerges from the shadows, she will have to do everything in her power to prevent him from carrying out his plan. An iconic series?
Dominique Thorne returns to play Riri Williams, while Anthony Ramos and Alden Ehrenreich make their MCU debuts. The former is credited as The Hood, a character expected to act as a mentor to the heroine. Ehrenreich, who has worked with the Cohen brothers and the Star Wars galaxy, should be the funny sidekick the genre demands.
Behind the scenes, Ryan Coogler serves as producer, while Chinaka Hodge is in charge of creation. She worked as a writer on Snowpiercer and The Midnight Club. The series will launch on June 24th, with the first three episodes available on day one. After that, it will be available one episode per week until the conclusion three weeks later. With four weeks of release, Marvel has no intention of dragging things out. Is this a way to sweep another failure under the rug? The answer will be in a few weeks.
