For some reason, Meta doesn't have a strong iPad presence. We're still waiting for news of a hypothetical version of Instagram optimized for Apple tablets, which may eventually arrive one day. But today, it's mainly a celebration of WhatsApp, which is finally available on iPad!
The long wait finally rewarded
This project began in the summer of 2021, and at the time, we were naive enough to think that WhatsApp would "soon" arrive on iPad. The development has regularly reminded us of its merits. Patience is a virtue! But finally, the app is here, in fact it's an update of the app for iPhone and Mac to download at this address.
The iPad version requires activation from the iPhone app, but once the operation is complete, messaging on the tablet works freely. In other words, there's no need to have a smartphone nearby, and messages received on the iPad will be synchronized with other devices, and vice versa. Let's also remember that messages are end-to-end encrypted on the iPad, as on all messaging platforms.
For the rest, we find all the usual WhatsApp functions and interface on tablets, this time with the display of two panels on the same screen. Might as well make the most of the available space. Okay, now it's Instagram's turn...
