Xbox Game Pass: Here are the free games this weekend, all very good

The first two Xbox Game Pass games of May 2025 arrived this Thursday, May 1, 2025. They are two iconic licenses in completely different genres: on one side the management game Anno 1800, and on the other the FPS Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Two rooms, two atmospheres. Alongside this, the week's Free Play Days have been launched. This initiative allows all XGP subscribers to get their hands on other titles, and then purchase them by taking advantage of temporary promotions.

Xbox Game Pass games of the weekend (S18)

For the Free Play Days from April 24 to 28, 2025, Xbox Game Pass members had access to three games: the racing game Make Way, which looks like Micromachines, NHL 2025, and one of the survival-horror gems, Alien Isolation. A masterpiece that understood everything about the cult work and is the most beautiful love letter that fans could dream of. The free trials for these three games are now unavailable, but a new rotation awaits all Xbox Game Pass subscribers. Regardless of subscription. Here are the new free games of the weekend, which will be available until Monday, May 5 at 8:59 a.m. (French time). You'll only find the best!

Forza Motorsport

You'll be able to climb aboard cars, each faster and more sumptuous than the last, with the free trial of Forza Motorsport. The latest installment in the franchise, released exclusively on Xbox Series X|S and PC, perhaps awaiting a port to PS5 in the coming months, did not disappoint. According to our Guillaume, "Forza Motorsport is making its big comeback on Xbox and PC, and in the best possible way", notably thanks to high-flying visuals and physics that match the series' simulation ambitions. Forza Motorsport is playable at no extra cost for Xbox Game Pass Core, Standard, and Ultimate subscribers, with a discount of €39.99 instead of €79.99 for the basic edition (among others).

The Escapists

After the fantastic Forza Motorsport, you can turn to the very good The Escapists for the free Xbox Game Pass games of the weekend. In this independent production from Mouldy Toof Studios, published by Team17, you will take on the role of a prisoner. And as the title suggests, your mission is to escape from the penitentiary using any means possible, such as provoking a riot, digging a tunnel under the prison, or even pretending to be a guard by first stealing a prison guard outfit. A sandbox prison experience that has garnered 90% positive reviews out of 14,146 Steam ratings. It is available for purchase at €3.99 instead of €17.99.
