Its ambition – relatively speaking – was to challenge GTA on its own turf, and yet, it's currently content to overshadow Cyberpunk 2077 in the list of games with the most chaotic launches. We're talking, of course, about MindsEye, the new GTA-like released last week. Already considered the worst game of 2025, Build a Rocket Boy's first title seems to herald a very bleak future for the studio... which, however, reportedly has another secret project in development right now.
Build a Rocket Boy is reportedly working on a very well-known license
At least, that's what Spanish YouTuber BaityBait claims in a long video going back behind the scenes of the MindsEye disaster. Known for his numerous developer interviews and video reviews, the content creator has now built a solid reputation in the field. And this is precisely what allegedly allowed him to obtain the information shared in the video, in which he claims that Build a Rocket Boy is currently working in collaboration with a large company on an already established license.
"You would think that after what happened [with MindsEye], the future of the company is doomed, that it's over, that they're closing down. […] But no, because it's the video game industry," explains BaityBait. "They also have another secret project in development, on a very powerful license for a very large company, which has not yet been announced." And while he can't reveal which one, as his sources have "expressly asked him not to," he nevertheless assures us that "it's a TV series that [we] all know." This is particularly intriguing, and above all shows that Build a Rocket Boy actually has more than one trick up its sleeve. As a side note, in addition to MindsEye, the studio is also working on Everywhere, a future massively multiplayer online game in which players could create their own experiences. This is also the first game to have been officially announced by the latter, before MindsEye finally became the spearhead of the company founded by Leslie Benzies.
MindsEye 2 already in development?
Naturally, however, we invite you to take this information with a grain of salt for the moment. But if all this is true, it will be interesting to see what impact MindsEye will have on Build a Rocket Boy's future projects. In fact, according to BaityBait, the latter has also already started work on MindsEye 2, with the intention of making it a multiplayer project coming next year. It remains to be seen whether this will remain the case for long...
