Marvel and DC have decided to collaborate again on a crossover between Deadpool and Batman, a first in more than two decades. Announced last May, this collaboration between the two houses is revealed through a new visual which announces the fight between the Mercenary and the Bat of Gotham...
Deadpool and Batman are coming soon as a duo
On September 17th, fans of Deadpool and Batman, two superheroes who, let's face it, don't have much in common (beyond their publishing house) will finally be able to discover the crossover announced by Marvel and DC last month. These iconic characters will be reunited in two epic one-shots, one from Marvel and one from DC. On the Marvel side, the one-shot is written by Zeb Wells and drawn by Greg Capullo. On the DC side, we'll be treated to the penciling of Dan Mora, as well as the talent of the legendary Grant Morrison, who "came out of retirement" with this promising statement:
I don't do a lot of comics these days, but I couldn't turn down the chance to work again with Dan Mora, one of my all-time favorite artistic collaborators, and I certainly couldn't turn down Batman and Deadpool! Expect fourth-wall breaking, owls, blood, blades, and at least one giant typewriter!
And a fight between Bruce and Wade?
Marvel and DC have just unveiled a new visual for their crossover project, in which Batman and Deadpool are in the middle of a fight in front of a graffiti-covered wall (did you spot the Joker under Wade Wilson's arm?).
Other vigilantes will also be featured in this comic, including Green Arrow, Captain America, Wonder Woman, Krypto... Editor-in-chief Mark Basso shares his enthusiasm:
We're going to the four corners of the Marvel and DC universes, and the creators are having a blast finding unexpected and unexplored connections between these characters. We can't wait for fans to experience the same mind-blowing moments we did! And we have more secret stories in the works, so keep your eyes peeled for more!
A crossover that promises to be more serious than these silly stories...
