Magnificent collector's editions, an artbook, merchandising, and even a film adaptation... One thing is certain: we haven't heard the last of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 yet. Almost two months after its release, Sandfall Interactive's hit continues to regularly make headlines while more and more players gradually begin to see the end of this beautiful and great French RPG adventure. But the good news of the day is that the studio is clearly not done yet!
New content on the way for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Indeed, while Guillaume Broche, CEO of Sandfall Interactive, had implied last month that no additional content was in the works for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, it now appears that the situation has changed. “Hello! We’re currently exploring a wide range of future improvements – from accessibility features to new content, and all sorts of other things we’re actively evaluating. Naturally, this also includes expanded localization options,” reads a message posted on social media yesterday.
So, was this actually the plan from the start? Or has the team finally changed its plans in the face of the colossal success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 since its launch? While our hearts are leaning more towards the latter, one thing is for sure: this is news that will definitely make many people happy. “While we don’t have a specific timeline or confirmed languages to share yet, we wanted to let you know that this is definitely on our radar. Wheee!”, however, Sandfall adds, warning players that patience will be required.
A real DLC on the way?
It now remains to be seen what the studio actually means by "new content". Will we be treated to a real DLC in the proper form, with new narrative content and perhaps even new game areas to explore? Or will it rather be the addition of a series of side quests, with additional equipment and icons to unlock? We'll probably get an answer within a few months. In any case, we can tell you: we're already looking forward to diving back into the world of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33!
