A little bit of everything for everyone. Google thought of Pixel owners eager to test the new features of Android 16, by delivering the stable version of the new operating system yesterday. For those who prefer to wait for others to get the hang of it, the company has delivered several exclusive features for Pixel smartphones.
VIPs can be a nuisance at any time
It is now possible to attach a VIP widget to the home screen, providing shortcuts to your favorite contacts to check the latest interactions, receive alerts for birthdays or important events, and share useful information. VIPs also have the privilege of bypassing Do Not Disturb mode.
The Gboard app can now create stickers from simple text descriptions (such as "a sad star with glasses") or even personal photos; the background of the image is then automatically removed. The Recorder app can finally generate AI summaries in French and German (only on Pixel 9).
In the Camera app, a new tab lets you view editing examples and explanations of the different photo modes. Finally, a new interface for Google Photos is in the works: it will suggest edits and offer quick access to the appropriate tools depending on the image.
