MindsEye: PlayStation Refunds Players, Will the Game Be Deleted Soon?

MindsEye: PlayStation Refunds Players, Will the Game Be Deleted Soon?

We were telling you about it just yesterday: MindsEye is currently in an extremely delicate situation. Since its release on June 10, the first Build a Rocket Boy title has been the subject of a heated controversy, fueled in particular by the catastrophic state in which it was released. Bugs galore, technical problems, and untimely crashes have made progress within the game particularly chaotic, so much so that PlayStation is starting to make a radical decision.

MindsEye, the new Cyberpunk 2077?

Since yesterday, the Japanese firm seems to have decided to apply the same policy as for Cyberpunk 2077 in 2020, namely to reimburse players who request it. "PlayStation support refunded me [MindsEye] without any problem and said they are aware of the game's optimization and are investigating the situation," revealed one user on Reddit, with a photo as proof. And he's not the only one, as other users on X are also starting to report receiving a refund.

For players, who may feel cheated by having spent €60 on a game that's clearly not finished, this is seen as good news. For Build a Rocket Boy and MindsEye, however, this doesn't bode well. Remember, things started out the same way for Cyberpunk 2077 at the time, before PlayStation finally decided to remove the game from the Store for several months. Time for CD Projekt RED to make the necessary fixes and make it a little more playable than at launch.

The studio is preparing numerous patches

What was initially seen as a joke by some, MindsEye being compared to Assassin's Creed Unity for its numerous bugs, or even to Watch Dogs for its gameplay, could be about to take on unexpected proportions. Nevertheless, aware of the situation, Build a Rocket Boy assures that it is working hard on numerous fixes intended to improve the situation as quickly as possible. "We are heartbroken to see that not all players were able to experience the game as we had intended," the studio laments on X.

"Our priority is to optimize performance and stability so that every player, regardless of platform, can enjoy a similarly high-quality experience. […] We are fully committed to ensuring that all our players have an enjoyable experience, and we will continue to provide frequent and transparent updates." Knowing that three updates are already planned for MindsEye: the first will arrive before June 15, the second the week of June 16, and finally the last before the end of the month. The start of a long series?
